confusion and a Pinterest fail

I’m a bit confused at the moment. Which is odd since I have been on a path for Clarity since Nov. 28th when I signed up for a class with Shawn Driscoll. I have answered a few of my questions as to what I want to do, and actually have some ideas as to how I want to do it. But then I get home from work and my brain shuts down because there is so much stuff going on in my head that I can’t figure out where to start. For instance I have decided that I really really want to create more patterns I still want my focus to be patterns for beginners I decided to modify the ModestEve website and make it what it is supposed to be: a business site dedicated to all things about my patterns (and hopefully sewing classes). So I power start it…drop dreamweaver install WordPress install a theme play with some graphics…screaching halt why because I don’t have Photoshop…the images aren’t coming out right…I try Picassa…PicMonkey…but I can’t find something that is free that will allow me to edit the images the way I want them especially in regards to size. If someone know how to get a free program to get you a pic of the exact pixel size you want please let me know…maybe I’m overlooking a function :(

Well the confusion continues and continues, I’m sure it’s all a mental block or me sabotaging myself or the universe hates me, or something like that. I guess I’ll just keep plucking along overcoming obstacles  I’ll eventually end up with a finished project again at some point.

Well in the spirit of my complaining about things, I thought I would show you one of my big pinterest fails. I decided I wanted to do this:

pinterestPinecones

because it looks like the easiest thing on the planet, right? Take some ribbon and stick some pincones on the end. Well it turns out that proportion is key. I had some big massive pinecones (because a Barton never does anything small :) and well I didn’t even finish it:

And at this point all I can do is laugh, at least I only cost me .35 cents (ribbon was 70% off at Jo-Ann’s) Now I have put it away and will have to figure out how to save it for next Christmas.

So cheer me up, what are you working on?

Well I would not call that a fail, but maybe a work in progress? Just remember, we do not grow if we do not make mistakes and learn from them. Good luck on your photo-editing endeavors, I am not real strong in that area so I am of no help.

Thank you Raquel. I don’t mind learning, but learning from mistakes really bumms me out. But I did find the answer to my photo sizing question. You can resize photos in regular old free Paint on Windows, who knew?
