We had our New Beginnings program this past week. Our Young Women’s president found a graphic at Liberty’s Layouts blog that she printed 4 on a page and then wanted me to put it on wood blocks. (If you want the image click on the link She provides it as a free download on her blog.)

So I purchased 2 – 2″ x 6″ – 10 foot long boards at Lowe’s. I had my husband cut them into 6″ blocks. So that gave me 25 – 2″ x 6″ x 6″ blocks, that I then had him spray paint black.

I then Mod Podged the image on the center of the block, and tied a tule ribbon around the block.

It was a lot of work, but they were a big hit at our New Beginnings, along with this take home gift our 2nd counsler made these cute shoes:

You can find a tutorial and download a shoe template at Skip to My Lou. Print one out then write on the side of the shoe then make copies on each value colors paper.

It was a wonderful night:

And then the battery on my camera died. I had been at my nieces birthday party at the park earlier and noticed it was low, told myself to charge it as soon as I get home. I was so tired I just laid down, and didn’t wake up until it was time to go to the church. I forgot all about the battery until I got there.

Do you have 11 year old young women that are getting ready to go into the Young Women’s program?
